When you start practicing yoga, you will quickly find that there is a certain disagreement among the yogis, especially beginners. And the words “this is not yoga”, “this is a wrong yoga” will sound suspiciously often.
Almost every group of enthusiastic supporters of a certain style / school believes that their yoga is “more real” than the next door one. And, a precise Iyengar follower looks doubtfully at a high-spirited ashtanga yogi, and the good-natured kundalini yogi laughs at the sweaty practitioner of bikram yoga.
But, in fact this dispute is unsolvable. There are so many different types of yoga out there, whether you want a more physically demanding class or an easy, relaxing, meditative class. With each style a bit different from the others you’ll find variations depending on the teacher.
The argument about which style is the most “right” is doomed, because each person has his own motivation and understanding of what he needs to get from practice. Therefore, it will be fair and correct for each practitioner to determine his goals he tries to achieve.
